Part-Time Content Producer (Email + Editorial)

Hi, we’re Big Human: a full-service creative agency working at the intersection of technology, design, branding, and marketing.

Since 2010, we’ve produced hundreds of websites, applications, and brands for a wide range of clients, from iconic institutions to fast-growing startups. As our marketing practice continues to expand, we’re hiring a part-time Content Producer to support both client marketing work and Big Human’s own editorial efforts.

About the Role

This is a part-time Content Producer role (~20 hours/week) focused on email marketing and long-form editorial content. The role blends hands-on execution with channel ownership and performance thinking: shaping editorial calendars, writing content, executing in email tools, reviewing results, and identifying opportunities to improve over time.

The 20 hours per week are split between:

  • Client-facing marketing work (primarily email marketing)
  • Big Human’s own marketing and editorial content

You’ll work closely with product management and SEO/GEO partners while owning execution day to day. Success looks like high-quality content shipping consistently and clear performance insights driving iteration.

This role is part-time, with potential to grow over time if it proves to be a strong mutual fit.

What You’ll Do

Email Marketing (Client Work)

  • Partner with product management to help shape email calendars and weekly priorities
  • Own end-to-end email execution:
    • Craft editorial calendar
    • Write email campaigns
    • Build and QA emails in tools like Mailchimp
    • Coordinate feedback and approvals with PM
  • Produce ~2 emails per week on average, with flexibility for quick-turn requests
  • Pull weekly and quarterly performance metrics and surface clear insights:
    • What’s working
    • What’s not
    • What to test next
  • Proactively suggest optimizations around subject lines, segmentation, timing, and list growth

Editorial Content (Big Human Marketing)

  • Write long-form articles and case studies aligned with Big Human’s POV and positioning
  • Upload and QA content on our website, from case studies to articles and service pages
  • Optimize content for SEO in collaboration with the SEO manager
  • Expand our editorial calendar to include more thought leadership, branded content
  • Serve as a first-pass editorial QA reviewer on content from other writers, ensuring:
    • Voice consistency
    • Structural clarity
    • Readiness for final approval
  • Design editorial schedule and craft once/monthly email campaigns 
  • Help maintain and evolve the editorial calendar, flagging opportunities and gaps

  • Content ships consistently with minimal line edits needed
  • Performance insights inform iteration, not just reporting
  • Editorial work moves forward without constant check-ins
  • Clear ownership within defined lanes
  • Strong follow-through and reliability

Who You Are

  • 3–6+ years experience in email marketing, editorial, content production, or a related role
  • Agency or multi-client experience
  • A strong writer with a sharp eye for clarity, structure, and voice
  • Comfortable owning execution end to end
  • Confident working independently within clear parameters
  • Familiar with email platforms like Mailchimp or similar tools
  • Thoughtful about performance and testing, even if analytics isn’t your primary focus
  • Organized, dependable, and proactive in communication

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working closely with SEO partners
  • Comfort doing light editing or QA on others’ work

Location & Work Style

This is a fully remote role. That said, we’re ideally looking for someone based in the tristate area or on the East Coast, or someone who can consistently work with significant overlap with Eastern Time business hours.

Regular availability during EST working hours is important for collaboration, reviews, and real-time coordination with the team.
